Cans for Kai

Cans for Kai initiative is our new initiative where consumerism waste becomes a community treasure, supporting our commitment to sustainability.

Pheonix Metalman Recycling in collaboration with LegaSea, Papatūānuku Kōkiri Marae, Westhaven Marina, and the Outboard Boating Club, is excited to introduce this innovative fundraising initiative that not only addresses environmental concerns but also – fuels the growth of our Kai Ika Project.

How Cans for Kai Works

Collection points: We collect aluminium cans at various locations, including Westhaven Marina, Outboard Boating Club (OBC), Orakei Marina, and Papatuanuku Kokiri Marae.

Recycling process: Our recycling partner Phoenix Metalman Recycling pay us for the collected aluminium cans, providing financial support and contributing to our independence. Recycling aluminium is not only economically beneficial but also environmentally responsible, as it is infinitely recyclable.

Engage with Cans for Kai

Cans for Kai is more than just a fundraiser – it’s about promoting the value of recycling and supporting a sustainable circular economy model. Join us in assisting local councils in achieving their zero-waste goals.

Drop off your cans: Engage with the community by dropping off your cans at our collection points at Westhaven Marina, Orakei Marina, Outboard Boating Club (OBC), and Papatuanuku Kokiri Marae. Support is as simple as giving us your empty cans.
